A trip to the splash pad
Small jets first, the big fountain only if and when it feels right: a splash pad visit paced entirely by the child, not the clock.
The steps, one by one
- I put on my swimsuit and water shoes.
- I walk onto the splash pad.
- I stand near the small water jets first.
- I decide if I want to walk through the big fountain.
- I play in the water at my own pace.
- I take a break on the bench if I need to.
- I rinse off before we leave.
- I dry off with my towel.
