Putting on sunscreen
Letting the child apply the first dot themselves turns a sensory fight over cold, sticky lotion into a quick, predictable routine.

The steps, one by one
- I look at the sunscreen bottle.
- I put a small dot of sunscreen on my own hand.
- I rub the sunscreen on my arms and legs.
- I dab a little sunscreen on my cheeks and nose.
- My parent finishes my back.
- I put on my hat, all protected.
